Lost Ark Gem: Everything You Should Know

In Lost Ark, a Gem system is introduced later in the game but has very mechanical complexity. This guide will explain everything regarding Gems, including how to get, upgrade, and reroll them. Also, we will show you when you should be buying, selling, or fusing your gems in Lost Ark.

The Basics of Lost Ark Gems

Here are some basics of the gems:

1). Start at Level 1 and max out at Level 10.

2). Are Class-Specific.

3). Gems can only have one active skill; however, you may reroll (Refaceting).

4). There are two types of gems; Increased Damage (Triangle-shaped Gem) and Reduced Cooldown (Circular Gem).

5). Different names for each Tier Type; T2 is Azure (Damage) and Farsea (Cooldown), T3 is Annihilation (Damage), and Crimson (Cooldown).

6). Only 11 gems can be active at once.

7). Are limited to only 1 Azure and 1 Farsea Gem per skill while equipped.

8). You can combine gems to level them.

9). Gems come in Tiers (Currently T2 & T3).

10). Use the appropriate tier gems or your gems will lose 50% effectiveness.

11). Make a much more significant impact on Combat than expected.

12). Don't stack with other Gems of the same Skill and Type.

13). Follow the same Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 systems as all other Gear.

14). It can be traded between characters using the Storage system or even sent in the Mail.

Where to Get Gems in Lost Ark?

There are a wide variety of ways that players can obtain gems in Lost Ark:

1). Chaos Dungeons: From the two-daily Chaos Dungeons that use Aura of Resonance.

2). Cube Dungeons: From the Clear Reward.

3). Boss Rush: Players will receive a handful of Chests that each hold several Gems, depending on their performance.

4). Field Bosses: They are given as part of their once-a-day rewards on the days they spawn.

5). Auction House: Here, players can buy Gems with their hard-earned Gold. Make sure you select "All" classes when searching for gems to buy.

6). Events and Daily Login: Rare, but Gems can be given out as part of an Event Shop or as a Daily Login Reward.

Keep in mind that once you get to tier 3, the effectiveness of all tier 2 gems will fall to 50%.

When to Buy Gems in Lost Ark?

The right time to buy gems with Lost Ark Gold is a bit dependent on the current value of Gold in the game. However, it's almost always worth buying Gems at around level 5. Of course, players can also buy the Level 10 Versions of their Gems they get to Tier 3, but that's quite a Gold investment.

How to Equip Gems in Lost Ark?

1). It can be equipped by heading to the inventory and right-clicking the gem.

2). It can also be equipped by dragging it into the gem tab.

At a time, a total of 11 gems can be equipped, and you are free to choose how many damage-increasing and cooldown-reducing gems you want to equip.

How to Reroll Gems in Lost Ark?

1). Go to the Jeweler NPC (found in most major towns).

2). Here, select the Reroll effect and choose the gem you wish to reroll.

3). Rerolling the skill on a gem is not a free process and requires silver currency.

4). Below, we have listed the amount of silver required to reface gems of different levels:

• Level 1: 7,000 Silver
• Level 2: 8,500 Silver
• Level 3: 10,000 Silver
• Level 4: 20,000 Silver
• Level 5: 30,000 Silver
• Level 6: 60,000 Silver
• Level 7: 90,000 Silver
• Level 8: 150,000 Silver
• Level 9: 210,000 Silver
• Level 10: 340,000 Silver

4). Once both are selected, click on the Change button.

How to Upgrade Gems in Lost Ark?

1). You will need access to the Gem Synthesis/Gem Fuse window to level up gems.

2). This access can be obtained by talking to Gem Experts, which can be found in every capital city.

3). Once you have access to the Gem Fuse window, head to your inventory.

4). Next, click on the bottom icon that looks like a diamond or a gem.
5). This will open the Gem Synthesis window.

6). You must next select three gems of the same level. The type doesn't matter as long as they are of the same level.

7). The button to Synthesize should activate, click on it, and you can upgrade your gems.

When to Sell Gems in Lost Ark?

Here are the most common scenarios in which people tend to Sell their Gems:

1). After moving from Tier 1 to Tier 2 or Tier 2 to Tier 3 and selling all the Gems of the previous Tier.

2). When the price for specific Class Gems the player has are selling for an absurd amount on the Auction Market.

3). When the player's Gem Fusion progression has slowed, they have a couple of Level 5+ Gems that apply to unused Skills.

4). When a character that's meant primarily for grinding Una's Tasks or Daily Content obtains a fair number of Gems.

When to Fuse Or Not Fuse Gems in Lost Ark?

Here are some examples in which some Lost Ark Veterans would recommend not Fusing and instead would recommend selling or holding onto the relevant Gems.

1). Don't bother Fusing Tier 2 Gems past Level 5. They'll become irrelevant at Tier 3 but sell for a reasonable price at Level 5.

2). Don't Fuse Gems with Damage/Cooldown Bonuses for Skills.

3). Don't ever Fuse three Damage-type or Cooldown-type Gems hoping this will make the result of the same type; Gem Fusion results are entirely random.

4). Never Fuse equipped Gems of a high level unless there's a relevant Gem of a Similar Level already ready to replace it.
