NBA 2K22 Shooting Tips

In the previous guide, we showed the best places to buy NBA2k22 mt, and now we will bring you some shooting tips.

Knowing how to shoot is one of the most important skills you can acquire in NBA 2K22. However, NBA 2K22 has changed a lot this year, including new shooting mechanics and a new shot meter. This guide has put together actionable NBA 2K22 shooting tips that you can start using right away to go from a brick master or average shooter to a walking bucket.

NBA 2k22 shooting tips

1. Pick the Right Build: In 2K22, any build with a 65-plus 3-ball can shoot consistently. The higher, the better, of course, but having a higher attribute is not necessary. Badges are more critical.

2. Pick the Right Badges: Pick the best badges for your build, and they'll help you become a sharpshooter in no time. Some standard and must-have ones are 'Catch and Shoot,' 'Deadeye,' 'Corner Specialist,' 'Set Shooter,' 'Volume Shooter,' 'Clutch Shooter' and 'Sniper.' If you are building an entirely pure shooter like Curry, Thompson, or Lillard, you should add badges like 'Circus Threes,' 'Chef,' 'Green Machine,' 'Rythym Shooter,' 'Mismatch Expert' and 'Difficult Shots.'

3. Pick the Right Jumpshot: Choosing the right Jumpshot for your character in NBA 2K22 is critical to winning a game. Below we've listed down the best NBA 2K22 Jumpshots.

1). Best Current Gen Jumpshots

Jumpshot 98: Still the best for the third straight year, as this Jumpshot is quick, easy to time, and smooth. For an upper release, we recommend Rudy Gay or Release 7.

Ray Allen: The best catch-and-shoot Jumpshot that is quick and easy to time off the catch. Underrated by many but is dominant in the right hands. We recommend Carmelo Anthony or Klay Thompson for the upper release.

Stephen Curry. Curry's Jumpshot is always a W in 2K. Smooth, relatively quick, and super easy to time. And it's perfect as is, as the Steph Curry upper is ideal for this base.

2). Best Jumpshots for Next-Gen

Ray Allen: The best catch-and-shoot Jumpshot that is even better on Next-Gen than current. Same story as above, we recommend Carmelo Anthony or Klay Thompson for the upper release.

Dante Exum: The dominant release of 2K21 is still good on 2K22. While Allen is better now, Exum is a release you may be comfortable with from last year. The Dante Exum upper is probably best for this base, as well.

Dwayne Wade: A Base 98 clone that is great on Next-Gen. Very Quick, accessible to time, but doesn't get you a lot of separation off the floor. The best upper releases we've found are Release 7, Carmelo Anthony, or even Wade's upper.

4. Practice your Jumpshot: To shoot better Jumpshots, your timing should be precise, and for that, you must practice your Jumpshots. Take advantage of shooting around in the City or the Pro-Am arena to work on new jump shots, work out the kinks in your shot, find the sweet spot of when to release the ball, etc.

1). An excellent general rule is to take the shot at the peak of the jump.

2). Work on all types of shots: off the dribble, spot-up catch, and shoot, fadeaways, mid-range, 3 PT, in hot spot areas, etc.

3). Practicing will get you thoroughly familiar with every shot type in the game so that you have several shot varieties to attack the defense in different situations.

4). Once you feel comfortable with your shot and jump shot mechanics from practicing, take it to an actual game, whether vs. the CPU or online multiplayer modes, to see how your shooting and jump shot perform against the solid defense.

5). Be sure to factor in input lag and delay while online and how it may affect your jump shot.

5. Get Your Shot IQ Up / Take Good Shots: A money jump shot can be equipped by any player, but instinctively knowing when to shoot is an intangible that players should know for the best shot success. Here are some tips to improve your Shot IQ:

1). Don't settle for foul shots. Having patience while also recognizing the opportunity is vital. The shot clock gives you 24 seconds, so utilize it to the fullest. When you take a terrible shot – i.e., heavily contested, rushed, forced, etc. – it's a gift to the defense and lets your opponent off the hook. Always strive to get good looks of the basket where the defender isn't close enough to contest the shot heavily.

2). Make sure Shot Feedback is on (under Controller Settings).

6. Only Shoot Open Shots: Shooting Contested Shots will only lessen the chance you have of making a shot, so learning the contest system and shooting open shots will help you shoot better overall. I appreciate that frustration and anger can quickly get the better of you, and you can find yourself simply taking shots until you make one, but it doesn't work like that.

7. Familiarise yourself with your player's Hot Zones: Hot Zones are where the player is most lethal on the floor. If you attempt shots in these specific Hot Zones or the player's favorite spots, you are more likely to green-light a shot with excellent release. An excellent release on a non-Hot Zone is undoubtedly more challenging. You should keep in mind where your player's Hot Zones are, and if you don't want to remember them, take a look at your player's shot indicator on the bottom to see if it is turning red.

8. Invest in suitable badges that have some correlation: I think three badges are crucial to improving your shooting. Those badges are Volume Shooter, Catch and Shoot, and Corner Specialist. They can all tie in together and give you a boost on a single shot, together, stacked.

9. Understanding the in-game shooting mechanics: We recommend you go to Settings and enable the 'Shot Feedback' option for 'All Shots', and you will get an idea of how to master your release timing. The Shot Feedback will flash after every single shot attempted. It will tell you whether your release was Very Early, Early, Slightly Early, Excellent, Slightly Late, Late, or Very Late. If you aren't using the Shot meter, focus on the shooter's hands and when he goes up for a shot to release the ball. Shot Feedback will also tell you how contested the shot was, so you understand how the defense is guarding you on each type of shot. If you take shots on your player's favorite spots on the floor and attempt less contested/open shots, they will fall in at a higher clip.

10. Set screens, get into space, and shoot shots with as much distance between you and your opponent as possible.

11. Decrease Gameplay Lag: This relates to online play, as offline play is not affected by 2K's poor servers. Ways to decrease lag are using a LAN cable or having top-notch WIFI (expensive).

Hopefully, these top shooting tips have helped you step up your game and will eventually translate into making your MyPlayer a star shooter. Also, have any NBA 2K22 shooting tips? Sound off in the comments below!
