10 Worst Badges in NBA 2K22

We've already covered some guides, such as where to buy NBA 2K22 MT, the best players at each position, and the best badges. So now let's take a look at some of the worst badges. That doesn't mean they can't ever be helpful for a particular build class, just not worth the time.

Here are 10 of the worst badges in NBA 2K22 spread across shooting, defense, finishing, and playmaking.

Worst Badges

Worst shooting badges in NBA 2K22

• Slippery Off Ball

The Slippery Off-Ball badge has less to do with shooting and more to do with putting yourself in the position to shoot. This badge makes your MyPlayer a bit more elusive on the court, as it strengthens the ability to get open off the ball.

Generally speaking, this badge is useless unless your MyPlayer is tailored for the off-ball offense. Some may swear by keeping this badge on bronze or silver, but going any higher than that is a process of diminishing returns.

• Set Shooter

The Slippery Off-Ball badge is back for NBA 2K22 and allows players to more effectively navigate through traffic when attempting to get open off screens. It also helps with the new Off-Ball juke system.

It may be helpful for certain sharpshooters, but you'll rarely get great opportunities from a total standstill, to begin with, making this badge less effective in the long run.

• Circus Threes

You are struggling with shot timing when back-pedaling on that dribble? Well, this new badge is what's going to help increase your chance of conversion! Circus Threes boosts your stepback and other difficult shots.

With that in mind, this is a badge that won't be very effective for new or moderately skilled players. In short, this badge has a high skill ceiling.

• Lucky #7

Any jumpers are given a boost with Lucky #7 so long as it is done early.

That's such a specific circumstance that this badge isn't worth grinding for. It's possible that Lucky #7 could be the very worst badge of all in NBA 2K22.

Worst playmaking badges in NBA 2K22

• Triple Threat Juke

Triple Threat Juke is a new badge for NBA 2K22, and it increases the effectiveness of triple threat fakes, jabs, and go moves.

We are not going to recommend this badge. Triple Threat moves and jab steps have never been a big part of 2K and will continue to play a minuscule role in 2K22.

• Downhill

The Downhill badge is back for NBA 2K22 and increases your player's speed with ball rating on fastbreak opportunities, which boosts how fast a player runs with the ball on a fastbreak.

If you didn't build a baller designed around the fastbreak, having Downhill in your badge repertoire won't mean much of anything.

• Tight Handles

The Tight Handles badge boosts your player's ball-handling in one-on-one situations. This badge also makes it easier to chain dribble moves. The badge is a must-have for dribblers, as it allows you to dribble more cleanly, and in some circumstances, freeze your defender from making a play on the ball.

But it's become less relevant in recent years. Unless you want to make yourself a dribble god, the advantages this badge offers aren't good enough. You can improve the handles on your player fine enough by tweaking stats alone.

Worst finishing badges in NBA 2K22

• Dream Shake

The Dream Shake badge is back for NBA 2K22 next-gen and current-gen and increases the chances that a defender falls for a pump fake in the post. In addition, your player's shooting attributes increase after post moves or pump fakes.

Shimmy Post Moves are a bit tough to do in the post and far from overpowered, so this badge won't trigger a ton and will probably, at best, be used rarely when regular fades and hooks are more effective.

Worst defensive badges in NBA 2K22

• Tireless Defender

Tireless Defender reduces the amount of energy exerted on defense. Stamina is a significant aspect of 2K this year, so conserving stamina is essential. This badge may not need to be upgraded very high to be effective, so bronze or silver is enough. Early on into MyPlayer, this badge will be helpful because stamina will be lacking before attribute upgrades.

Still, with defense being as powerful as in NBA 2K22, there has to be a better way to spend your badge points than this.

• Off Ball Pest

The Off-Ball Pest badge makes players more difficult to get past when playing off-ball, as they can grab and hold their matchup and don't get their ankles broken as often.

Again, unless you plan on focusing on off-ball play, this badge won't be very helpful. It also ends up having a reasonably high skill ceiling because its best advantages aren't activated until you reach Gold or Hall of Fame. This badge can be awesome if you put time into it, but it may not be worth the intense grind.
